An Athabascan folk tale from the Yukon River country. Owl had a wife and 12 children but he was so greedy he never shared his kill with them but ate it all himself. One day his wife killed a bear. She tried out the fat and made Owl eat all of it and then he drank the grease. It made him so fat he couldn't fly any more.
