Editor's note: this image is illustrated in the book Sun Signs from a Polar Star: A Northern Zodiac.

Pisces, the twin fishes shown here as two north Pacific salmon. Typhon of the hundred heads and father of the dangerous winds so terrified Cupid and Venus that they leapt into the river and became two fishes. Later, Minerva placed them in the heavens.

Those born under this sign are intuitive, sympathetic and empathetic. Unworldly and emotional they are compassionate and deeply affected by their impressions. They are kind and receptive to other people's ideas.
