Raven wanted Whale to go hunting with him. Whale was afraid of Raven but Raven persuaded him to come.

The two went up the river where Raven tricked Whale into trying to cross and shallow place and when Whale couldn’t swim Raven killed him. He carried Whale’s guts into the woods where they became tree roots. Then he ate the rest of Whale.
