Unknown proofs were produced
Note: this is one of DeArmond’s earliest woodcut prints. Pictured is an unnumbered artist proof; if this was editioned, it is unknown how many were produced. In an article from American Artist (April, 1982), Dale mentioned an early print she’d completed (although this print is not specifically mentioned by name, and it does have an additional color – green). She remembers her first three-color print… “It was a crab, done in black, blue and red… a really beautiful red.”
