Editor's note: this image is illustrated in the book Sun Signs from a Polar Star: A Northern Zodiac.

Scorpio – the scorpion, in obedience to Juno's command, rose from the earth to attack Orion and made the horses of the sun run away. Jove was so provoked he sent a thunderbolt in rebuke. Here we have a palrayuk, a mythological Eskimo creature, falling out of the sky after attacking Orion while an arctic sun looks on.

The highly imaginative Scorpio person has a strong sense of purpose combined with powerful feelings and emotions. Persistent and determined the Scorpio person pursues his/her ends with great subtlety.
