Illustration for Cricket Magazine for an American Indian story about a little girl who went into the forest to gather pine nuts. While she was high in a tree a forest monster caught her and was going to carry her off to his cave but Singing Bird had left her deerskin hair ribbons in the tree and when they were on the ground she had such a temper tantrum that the monster went back up the tree to get the ribbons and Singing Bird ran away laughing.
