Thunder was a wild man who killed people when he wrestled them. Two young brothers practiced wrestling and defeated Thunder but he came after them and was about to break through the roof but they pinched the ear of a female dog until she howled and Thunder went away. That's how people in Alaska still do to make thunder stop.

An Athabascan folktale from the Yukon River country.
