Hand pulled by the artist from the original endgrain maple block and handcut embossing plate on an Ettan etching press at Sitka, Alaska, October 1992.

Editor's note: some prints are not embossed. Its certificate of authenticity indicates six prints were pulled for a book edition, but there is no evidence such a book was created. At least two versions of borders were created, one without color and one in ochre.

Illustration for an Athabascan folktale about Raven who wanted the sun for his village. He impregnated the daughter of the Chief who owned the sun. Raven bided his time and when the doting grandfather let the child play with the sun Raven stole it and set it in the sky.
