Editor's note: part of DeArmond's Birds of Glacier Bay series. Some of the certificates of authenticity for prints of this series state that 10 were produced for a book edition; however, there is no indication that any such book was ultimately created.

Like the ruby crowned kinglet, this small bird likes conifer forests. Males have an orange and yellow crown. In the females the crown is yellow. A rare but regular visitor to Glacier Bay during most of the year.
