Editor's note: this image is illustrated in the book Sun Signs from a Polar Star: A Northern Zodiac.

Libra – the time of the autumn equinox, when day and night are equal and the harvest is gathered and weighed. Here, lighted by an arctic sun and an arctic moon, we have an old north Pacific fisherman in his sou'wester, slicker and turned down rubber boots weighing his harvest of fishes.

Those born under this sign love harmony and good living in pleasant places. They are easy-going and diplomatic and idealistic. They are also romantic and not the most practical people in the world, but very charming.
