Ch'iduchuq'a Sukdu'a: Ch'iduchuq'a
– told by Alexie Evan; gathered and translated by Joan M. Tenenbaum
One day the animals disappeared and the people called on Ch'iduchuq'a, the belted Kingfisher and his partner, the collared Pika, to see if they could find where the animals had gone. After much looking and singing the partners and the people came to a rock bluff. More singing and magically the rocks moved apart and inside were all the animals. The animals all ran out and once more there was plenty of game for everyone.
