Editor's note: in 1982, Margaret Calvin – a proprietor of Old Harbor Books, located in Sitka, Alaska – purchased a vintage 1895 Chandler & Price 10 x 15 Platen Letterpress. Afterwards, DeArmond created newly-produced wood engraving illustrations to embellish a long awaited second edition of Sitka: A Short History, a book originally written by Margaret's husband, Jack Calvin, and first issued in 1936. It was the first book published by Old Harbor Press.

The image also appeared on the inner title page of both volumes of Feast of the Animals: An Alaska Bestiary.
