Editor's note: as is the case with the colors for many "Raven" prints, while the book contains a greener image, the actual print contains a more bluish image. Also shown: an early key block proof from 1962 (representing black, the primary color in the print).

Raven, a favored grandson, gets to play with "shiny toy" (the sun) from special box, and at opportune moment turns back into Raven, flies up through the smoke hole and takes off for home. He is chased, but he breaks off pieces of the sun as he goes to lighten his load. That is why you have sun, moon, and stars today.
