Hand pulled by the artist on an Ettan etching press at Juneau, Alaska, November, 1985.

The Cathedral of St. Michael in Sitka was dedicated on November 20, 1848 by Bishop Innocentius (Ivan Veniamenov). The original building was totally destroyed by fire on January 2, 1966.
This engraving is from an old photograph taken in the early part of this century.
The present building is an exact replica of (the) original cathedral.
