AKA: Yukon Jake, The Hermit of Shark Tooth Shoal: A Ribald Tale of Sin and Seduction
Editor's note: this short book was adapted from an original story by Edward Paramore and first appeared in Vanity Fair magazine in 1921. It was a parody of poems originally by Robert Service. The undated pamphlet was lithographed by the Sitka Printing Company; it credits Dale for its "Dizzy Pix." It is estimated to have been released shortly after Dale's work first appeared in Sitka Cook Book (1949).
Today, this book is extremely scarce; it appears to exist in the permanent collection of only a few institutions. There are nine pen-and-ink illustrations by DeArmond in total; they are featured below.
