Once there were five Eskimo brothers living with their mother and little sister. The brothers guarded and cherished her but one day the girl went out fishing alone in her kayak and the sea birds saw the beautiful child and stole her away and carried her off to the sky country and the only one who saw what happened was a wandering earth spirit drifting on a sea wind. The brothers and the mother searched for the girl but found only her empty kayak and returned home weeping for their lost sister. In the sky country the girl grieved for her mother and brothers but at last she turned into a sea bird.
