Editor's note: at least one study of this title has surfaced; it is similar in style and theme but differs in minute ways from the final print version.

An Athabascan folktale from the Yukon River country about a man who went down the Yukon in a canoe and had many adventures along the way. This engraving shows the man coming down the river to the Ramparts, shown here as two stone faces. In the story Wolverine can make the Ramparts clap together to trap travelers on the river.
