Editor's note: this is one of Dale's rare six-color woodcut prints. Construction for the railroad began in 1898 and opened for business in 1900. It then was the primary route to the interior, linking the port of Skagway, Alaska to Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon. It is not connected to any other railway. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction.
